Das Ich und das Es
Wenn sich der Buchstabe (e)S streckt wir er zum I(ch), Die Arbeit geht von Freud’s Schrift Das Ich und das Es von 1923 aus, die ein Modell für die Funktion unseres Denkens beschreibt. Das Es und das Ich sind ein Teil des genetischen Strukturmodells unserer Psyche. Das Es der organischen Triebe enthält das Verdrängte. Das Ich nimmt wahr, denkt und kontrolliert das Es, soweit es kann. Das Über-Ich liegt dann außerhalb und kritisiert das Ich, könnte also als Repräsentation der Betrachter:innen gesehen werden. Die abstrakte Form des Buchstaben S, gestreckt und in den Raum gekrümmt nimmt eine Gestalt an die an viele Dinge, Organisches oder Figürliches, zu erinnern beginnt; Verdrängtes kommt möglicherweise durch Bildassoziationen zum Vorschein.
When the letter S stretches it becomes the I. This work starts from Freud's 1923 paper ‘The Ego and the Id’ ((German: Das I(ch) und das (E)s)), which describes a model for the function of our thinking. The id and the ego are part of the genetic structural model of our psyche. The id of the organic drives contains the repressed. The ego perceives, thinks, and controls the id as much as it can. The superego then lies outside and criticizes the ego, so could be seen as a representation of you as the observer. The abstract form of the letter S, stretched and curved into space, takes on a shape that begins to remind one of many things, organic matter, figurative objects; the repressed possibly comes to the surface through associations of images.
